How to Install and Configure XBackBone on Plesk (Step-by-Step)

XBackBone is a fast, lightweight PHP file manager and ShareX uploader. This step-by-step guide walks you through installing and configuring XBackBone on a Plesk-hosted domain or subdomain.


Requirements

  • Access to a Plesk Webspace
  • PHP 7.4 or higher (PHP 8.1โ€“8.3 recommended)
  • A domain or subdomain configured in Plesk

Step 1: Add a Domain or Subdomain

  1. Log in to your Plesk Webspace.
  2. Click Add Domain if the domain is not already added.
  3. If the domain is already added, ensure it has a Web Hosting plan assigned.
  4. To add a subdomain (e.g., cdn.example.com), click Add Subdomain and enter your desired subdomain name.

Step 2: Configure PHP Settings

  1. Navigate to Websites & Domains and select your domain or subdomain.
  2. Click PHP Settings.
  3. Ensure PHP Support is enabled, and select your desired PHP version.
  4. Under Handler type, choose FastCGI Application served by Apache (recommended).

  1. Download and install ShareX on your computer.
  2. Go to your XBackBone web interface (e.g., https://cdn.example.com).

  4. In the Token section, click Update to generate a new token (only needed the first time).
  5. Under the Token section, locate the Client Configuration area.
  6. Download the configuration file for ShareX.
  7. Open ShareX and go to Destinations โ†’ Custom Uploader Settings.
  8. Click Import and select the downloaded config file from XBackBone.
  9. Return to the main ShareX window. Under After Upload Tasks, enable Copy URL to Clipboard.
  10. Under After Capture Tasks, enable Upload Image to Host.
